Full Endorsement:
Chris Bankus has delivered a sensational, action-packed masterpiece with KOA: Dark Systems, easily cementing his place as one of my absolute favorite authors.
From the get-go, this fast-paced sci-fi thriller grips you with a mysterious plot that delivers a
phenomenal, edge-of-your-seat experience. Bankus is clearly an intellectually sharp and
deeply intelligent writer, crafting a rich universe that simultaneously satisfies the mind and the
soul. His world-building is breathtaking, but his true genius lies in his ability to pen lines that
sink in deep and stay with you long after the book is closed. Standout quotes like, “the things we don’t understand are the things that test our faith the most,” and “The greatest victories are the ones you walk away from changed,
” are profound testaments to his elite
wordsmithing.
Equally impressive and what makes the story so incredible are the deeply believable characters; every individual feels authentic, multi-dimensional, and intimately relatable. They
are brought to life through highly realistic dialogue - yet another major strength of this author.
The dynamic between the crew is spectacular, and the witty, engaging banter - especially
between Sky and Nick - brilliantly reveals their distinct personalities in real-time. My personal
favorite character is Sky. She won me over by being a truly sensational heroine who carries
her fear without ever surrendering to it, showcasing a purposeful strength that is never cruel and always rooted in self-sacrifice.
Another aspect that completely blew me away is how faith drives the story. Rather than being
a passive background element, it serves as a practical source of courage, hope, and armor
for Sky and her crew when missions go sideways. Seeing the characters actively trust in prayer and surrender to God amid terror is incredibly inspiring - a powerful reminder that
when we align our hearts with Him, His grace truly sustains us through any storm.
In all, KOA: Dark Systems mixes adrenaline-pumping action, emotional depth, and spiritual truths to leave your faith on fire. It is a must-read that I simply cannot praise enough and I look forward to seeing where Bankus's immense talent takes him next.

For the last five years, I’ve been quietly building a world of my own. A young adult science fiction universe that slowly took shape during nights, weekends, early mornings, between work projects, Harvard classes, ministry, and everything else life has thrown our way.
I’m excited to share that the very first published novel, KOA: Dark Systems, is now in its final phase of publishing and should be released within the next week.
The funny part? There are already more than five additional KOA novels sitting somewhere around 70% complete while the universe continues to grow. Apparently my ADHD prefers creating new things over finishing existing ones.
If you’re curious, you can explore the universe here:
